I’m BACK! And it’s about time. I’ve been away since 2009 because I’d lost the passion and love, somehow.
In the meantime I’ve been hosting my weekly radio show on Amsterdam Funk Channel. An online radio station I’ve founded in 2010 to keep busy with music. However, this got a little outta hand! AFC is one of the most popular online radio stations in our genre, world wide! At
www.afc.fm you can listen to Pure Funky Grooves from the 80s 90s and now. My ‘Soulfood Show’ is on air every Sunday from 4 till 6pm (CET).

I’m also attending the club scene again!
Over a decade since my last gig, playing a live techno set at the MS Stubnitz, at the ‘NSDM werf’, Amsterdam North. But while the fire in me was gone for a while, the flame still hasn’t died. It actually reignited, hard! So, back in the record shops again, downloading from Beatport, Traxsource and JunoDownload. Going through piles and stacks of records, trying to find that sound I love so much. It had to be house with a techno flavor but not just any tune. It needs that groove, it needs that certain drive… that immersive drive! And of course, it’s gotta be a somewhat funky tune, too. Call it ‘medolic techno’. The elements and ingredients for a Les Ley aka Funky Junkie DJ set.
So, Back in the studio and clubs!
That being said. You can expect to find that same sort of medolic techno when you hear my new releases, soon to be found on all major music download stores and streaming services. Keep your eyes and ears peeled for Lesley Jones!
